A group of protestors marched from the Minerva Glorieta to the U.S. Consulate, where they condemned the “complicity of the United States with Israel” and its “policy of extermination of the Palestinian people.”
Although the United States is Israel’s most important backer, the U.S. government has consistently called for a scaling down of the military operation in Gaza—something Israel appeared to endorse at the turn of the year. However, Reuters is now reporting that Gaza residents say they have seen no let-up in the bombardments and that the focus has shifted to the south of the Strip.
