Watch gubernatorial debates online

The first of four planned debates among the candidates for the Jalisco governor’s job takes place on Sunday, March 17, 10 a.m.

The debate will be held at the studios of the Sistema Jalisciense de Radio y Televisión, at F. Rojas González 155, in Guadalajara’s Colonia Ladrón de Guevara. It will be broadcast on the state-operated, free-to-air “Jalisco TV 17.1” channel (also live on jaliscotv.com).

Three candidates will participate in the debates: Pablo Lemus of the Citizens Movement (MC), Claudia Delgadillo of the Morena/Verde/PT/Hagamos/Futuro alliance and Laura Haro of the PRI/PAN/PRD coalition.

The debates will each be split into different themes. The first one will focus on human rights and governance.

The second debate will take place Saturday, April 13, 5 p.m. in Zapotlan el Grande (Ciudad Guzman) and will cover infrastructure and public spending, finance and public works, transparency, accountability and combating corruption. It will also be aired on Jalisco TV.

The third debate will be held in Puerto Vallarta on Saturday, May 4, 5 p.m., when the themes will be economic development, jobs and wages, culture, health and sports.

The final debate on Sunday, May 26, 10 a.m. returns to the Guadalajara metropolitan area to the Canal 44 studios in Zapopan, and will focus on human development, education, innovation, mobility and the environment.

The third and fourth debates will be shown on Canal 44, the free-to-air television channel operated by the Universidad de Guadalajara (watch live at udgtv.com/canal44).
