Two representatives of Swedish furniture manufacturer IKEA will give a talk at the American Society of Jalisco (Amsoc) in Guadalajara on Tuesday, September 5, 10:30 a.m.
Robert Jenkins, IKEA’s development project manager and Cedric Gulbierz, store manager, will explain IKEA’s new venture in the state of Jalisco. The illustrated and interactive presentation will last for around 45 minutes.
Amsoc’s clubhouse is located at Avenida San Francisco 3332, in Colonia Chapalita. All welcome. There is no charge.
According to the latest news reports, Guadalajara’s IKEA store is under construction on a large plot of land located on Avenida López Mateos between Plaza del Ángel and Plaza del Sol and will be inaugurated in December.
Interestingly, the new store will be situated almost directly across the avenue from a large Muebles Plasencia outlet. This chain is one of the most established furniture retailers in the metropolitan area. Depending on which way one looks at it, the new IKEA store will either represent fierce competition for Plasencia, or create a new “furniture hub” that will benefit both companies.
The first IKEA store in Mexico opened on April 8, 2021, in the Encuentro Oceanía shopping center in Mexico City. Furniture and other merchandise can also be purchased in Mexico from the IKEA website.
