PV launches Grill Festival

Puerto Vallarta’s International Convention Center will host the first edition of the Vallarta Grill Festival on Sunday, May 5, from noon to 11 p.m.

The entry cost to the event will be 150 pesos, and include meat tastings and a commemorative glass. Children enter for free.

A wide range of grilled dishes, highlighting local, regional and international  gastronomy, will delight barbecue lovers. Options will include juicy cuts from northern Mexico, classic Argentine meats and exquisite Uruguayan roasts, organizers say.

Ten of the most prominent restaurants in the region are scheduled to take part in the festival’s competition, which begins at 2 p.m.

The panel of judges will be headed by famed local chef and restaurateur Thierry Blouet. The awards ceremony is set for 8 p.m.

Other activities include master classes by a grill master, and plenty of entertainment, such as performances by rock bands and a folkloric ballet troupe. A good selection of beverages will be available.
